First Light introduced carers who came to help me out at the last minute when I received a cancellation for my hip operation and needed someone for a few weeks to help me in my home after the op. The carer was superb, great company and very capable and efficient. Very easy company and a great sense of humour. She made those first weeks after my op much easier and made me do my exercises which in all honesty I probably would not have done so rigorously had I been on my own. She drove my car, so I was able to continue with my social life.  I would not hesitate in recommending this company and in fact have told a number of friends who live alone to make contact.

I want to thank you, First Light Platform for all your help last Autumn. It was touch and go whether my 86-year-old mum would ever leave hospital after her blood poisoning and all the complications that followed, and unimaginable that she would regain her independence. Your platform stepped in to help when I couldn’t find a space in a rehabilitation home, and helped us to achieve mum’s aim, just to go home and get well again for as long as she could. Firstly, your platforms prompt actions in finding a carer and meeting at her home to help me assess what needed to be done to make it safe for her to come home and to create a safe environment for mum with a bedroom downstairs with a separate room for her carer. Secondly, finding us the loveliest, supportive, and encouraging person to take care of her, and with such a great sense of humour. The carer has such a kind demeanour and to find her and mum giggling away with each other even over the difficult stuff was pure joy. My mother was cared for in every way imaginable, and it is thanks to the carer that mum is back once again living an independent life in her own home and on her own once again. We will not hesitate to call on your platform again and we have recommended you unconditionally several times already to other families with similar urgent needs. She is like another member of our family! We cannot thank this platform enough.

First Light Independent Care!

I do wish to thank you for finding a wonderful carer to come and look after me after my stay in hospital last September 2022.  

You could not have found and introduced a nicer person for me.  I was horrified at the thought of having to have someone to stay in my house with me and to look after me, but she was quite wonderful.  She has the most beautiful nature, always so encouraging, every small step I took seemed to delight her.  And her smile is pure joy.  Those weeks turned out to be a happy time and I am so grateful to you and the carer for helping me back on my feet and able to live a good, independent life again on my own, in my own home, once again.

First Light’s care platform introduced care for my mother, who was suffering from dementia, diabetes, and various other ailments. She is a lovely person who handled my mother with great tact and charm; Mum was always pleased to see the carer and her visits clearly brightened her day.

The platform also found us the most wonderful live-in carer for the fortnight my sister and I were both going to be away. My mother absolutely loved having the company, having been quite adamant that she wanted to be on her own, and it really helped to pave the way for increasing the amount of care she would accept.

Team First Light is extremely professional and reliable, and my sister and I counted ourselves very lucky indeed to have found them. The carers they introduced helped us keep my mother living safely in her own home for as long as possible.

Of late, having been admitted to hospital following an accident, First Light Independent Care platform introduced a lovely lady to help by providing, at short notice, emergency care for my partner, but she was also my constant companions and support after I returned home as I was unable to fend for my partner, let alone myself.

Having now recovered, I will continue to utilize ‘First Light’s Care platform to assist with my partners care when I return to work.

We were introduced to First Light’s introductory care platform almost 2 years ago for our 95-year-old mother. Mum needs a fair bit of care as amongst other health issues she can’t see and has mobility issues hence we opted for the live in carer.

  We as a family, like everyone, only want the best possible care for our mother and we can rest assured that First Light will find a suitable choice. I like the fact that with their assistance to the carers, they always respond to mums, and our needs so quickly and efficiently.
